Buzz Lightyear is a character from the Pixar Toy Story, and is included in the Toy Story in Space Play Set. He may be used in:

• the Toy Story in Space Play Set with Disney Infinity 1.0 (only)
• the Toy Box for Disney Infinity 1.0 and later,
• all Disney and Pixar Toy Box Games for Disney Infinity 2.0, and
• all Toy Box Expansion Games (Disney Infinity 3.0).

"Buzz Lightyear, Save Me!" is added to the Disney Infinity 1.0 Adventures menu when the figure is placed on the Disney Infinity Base.

Buzz Lightyear was released on October 22nd as an expansion character. An Infinite Crystal Series figure of Buzz was released on November 3rd exclusively at Toys "R" Us in the Race to Space pack, along with a crystal version of Lightning McQueen. A glow-in-the-dark version of Buzz Lightyear was available to purchase on the Toy Box App for iOS and PC, and he is available in every Gold Edition, but does not have an actual figure; however, he has his own statue in the Hall of Heroes.

Buzz Lightyear has the same Basic Abilities as, and shares a number of Common Skills with, other playable characters.

Buzz Lightyear uses Ranged style combat, relying on Pixar Balls to deal damage to targets. His Special Abilities^[2] include:

Mid-Air Recovery^[2] (tap 'jump' button while in mid-air)

Intergalactic Defense^[2] - must be depleted before health is affected

Shoulder Charge - attack (tap 'attack' button)}

Trivia

• The glow-in-the-dark figure exclusive to tablets and PC has a intended model number (1000038).
  • According to John Vignocchi and John Blackburn, there have been many attempts by the Disney Infinity team at making a physical glow-in-the-dark Buzz Figure. The reason that this never happened is that the figure itself would have to glow in the dark, as it shows on his render. Prototypes were made of the figure, but none of them were satisfactory for the figure designers. There were also concerns regarding regulations of the glow-in-the-dark paint that would be required for such a figure. The figure's release was pushed back many times as designers continued to tinker with the figure.^[5]
• Buzz and Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey are the only Characters to have three different figure variants.
  • If the 12-Inch Figure released, he would've been the only Character to have four figure variants.
• He, Holley Shiftwell and Iron Man have the most Regenerating Shield upgrades, with them each having 4 bars of Shields.
• In trailers and beta gameplay, Buzz is commonly seen with his helmet on.
  • The Buzz Lightyear NPC is still seen with it on in the Introduction to Disney Infinity.
  • The helmet was added to his block animation in Disney Infinity 3.0.
• When equipping Buzz Lightyear's Jetpack, the normal animation for swapping Packs will not occur, instead indicating that it is equipped are the glowing lights and the fan on the back spinning.
  • The appearance of the jetpack will also change when using Crystal or Glow-in-the-Dark Buzz, matching the color scheme of the variant using it.
• Buzz is one of the only Series 2 figures to not be Toy Box only. The others are Woody and Jessie.
• Buzz became available in a single pack in 2015.
• Buzz is one of three Playable Characters in the games to receive a non-crystal variant, along with Black Suit Spider-Man and D23 Expo Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey.
• Buzz is referenced by Kaos in Skylanders Superchargers. When the player beats the game, Kaos will say the following about a character who is also named Buzz. "There's something familiar about him...and I don't like it!" This may be due to the rivalry between Disney Infinity and Skylanders.
